This beautiful Portuguese girl was purchased with the understanding that both parents had completed their DNA tests. When she was a year old and a fully integrated, beloved member of our kennel family, we conducted her own DNA tests, only to find to our horror she was a carrier of the inherited DM (Degenerative Myopathia) and there was a 50% chance her puppies could inherit this terrible disease.
We sterilized her immediately. She is SUCH a beauty and always the lead hunter of the pack.
