Here we outline the steps for consideration to have a puppy from our kennel, the reservation, payment procedure, and puppy selection process. After a puppy owner candidate has requested to be put on the reservation list, we go thru a vetting formula with the person and carefully assess each person/family for a compatible fit between a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy and the family/person.
We usually arrange for a home-visit. If we cannot do a home visit, we ask for a video or ZOOM showing where the puppy will sleep and play. If all is good, we will send you the SALE AGREEMENT. The price of one puppy is 2,000€ + IVA. We accept a reservation deposit of 500€; the remaining money owed is paid in full the first work-day after Puppy Selection Day which is usually when the puppies are circa 5 to 6-weeks old. We cannot guarantee gender as we never know how many females or males we be born from each litter. On Puppy Selection Day we invite families to the kennel in order of their place on the reservation list, to pick their puppy. If an in-person visit to the kennel is not possible, we often do a live video to assist with a remote selection process.
Our puppies go home with their first set of vaccinations, micro-chip, and Health Certificate from a certified Veterinarian. The Pedigree will be sent to you once we have proof of sterilisation of the dog between 18-24 months of age. All costs for transportation, Pet Passport or additional boarding fees beyond the pick-up date are born by the buyer.
After the puppies are born, we publish on WhatsApp the new-born puppy photos. If the gender that you prefer is not available, you will have the option of choosing the other gender or moving your deposit forward to the next available litter opening. If there are not enough puppies born in the litter, you’ll have the option of moving your deposit forward to the next litter with an opening or receive your deposit back.
To protect our puppies, we prefer no visitors physically interact with our puppies before they have been vaccinated.
Each family will receive new-born puppy pictures as well as photos and updates of the litter’s progress at 3, 5 and 7 weeks of age so you can follow them as they grow -up. And of course, feel free to ask any questions along the way. Each puppy will all be assigned a coloured collar that they will wear until they go home so that you can easily identify them. Puppies go home at 8-weeks of age. If this is impossible we can board the puppy for a short period of time for a fee. The day you come to our kennel while we have unvaccinated puppies, you must not visit another breeder, canine care facility, pet store or shelter before you arrive and wear protective shoe and hand coverings which we provide.
THE PUPPY SELECTION DAY
When the puppies are around 5-weeks old, we send another detailed update that includes new photos, their weights etc. By this time, we’ve had the opportunity to assess temperaments, sizes, and individual personalities. We contact each family/person/kennel on the reservation list in the order of their reservation and deposit received and confirm an appointment to come select your puppy. We’ll help you make the best choice in choosing the puppy that best fits your needs and preferences. Once your selection is made, that puppy will no longer be in the ‘pool’ of puppy selection. If we don’t hear back from you or you cannot come to Puppy Selection Day and/or cannot set up, video viewing, we will be happy to pick your puppy for you based on which one we feel best meets your family’s needs.
If you commit to a litter and change your mind on a puppy from that litter, you can move your deposit forward to the next available opening from the next litter of puppies.
We reserve the right to the first pick from any litter and the right to refuse the sale of a puppy should we feel we are not able to meet the buyers needs or that buyer is not a good fit for one of our puppies or such. Should the sale be terminated by us (the Breeder), your deposit/reservation fee will be returned to you.
Please note, that our puppies are not for breeding unless by special request. This is stated in the Sale Agreement.
Our waiting list is quite long with some folks waiting nearly a year, that said some people may have changed their mind for one reason or the other. Therefore your position on the reservation list might move up.
Please be aware that we cannot keep puppies for extra days, we do not do boarding and it may be that we ourselves are travelling or otherwise not at the kennel after the planned puppy departure date.
